A futures journal that starts with your routine.

Check off your morning list, write your prep, then trade. Log each trade as it closes and review the session at the end. The same four things, every day.

The habit

The routine comes first.

Most journals are somewhere to record trades once the session is over. This one puts your checklist and your prep above the trades, because that is the order the day happens in. Check off your list, write what you expect, then trade.

Customizable checklists, and daily, weekly and monthly routines. What you check off is saved against that day, so months later you can look back and see which days you did the work and which days you skipped it.

Where your trades live

Plain files. In a folder
you chose.

Most journals keep your trading history in somebody else's database. This one asks you for a folder. Every day is written there as text, with your screenshots beside it, in a format anything can open.

Nothing to sign up for

No account, no password, no email. Open the page and pick a folder.

No network at all

The page carries a policy your browser enforces that stops it opening a connection. Watch the network tab while you work.

Yours to take

Back it up by copying the folder. Stop using this page and the files are still where you put them.

The day

Four things, in the order
the day happens.

01

Check off your morning list

Your own checklist at the top of the page, above the trades the list is there to produce. Reviewing your setups belongs on that list.

02

Write your prep before the open

Day type, bias, levels, the plan. Written while nothing is at stake, so there is something to hold yourself to later.

03

Log the trade as it closes

Direction, size, entry, exit, stop, and the chart pasted straight in. Points or dollars, whichever you have, and the other figure gets worked out for you, along with what the trade made against what was risked.

04

Review your trades

Write up the session at the close, then open the Review tab and look back over the month: every day on a calendar, the weeks totalled, a running total per account.

Imported from your broker

Scale in and out.
Log it as one trade.

Add into a position and scale out of it and your broker reports several separate fills. The importer checks the boxes on the ones that look like one position: same instrument, same direction, same second. Merge them and every price goes in the box, weighted by size, and the average does the rest.

A long will not merge with a short, and neither will two instruments or two accounts. Every merge can be undone, the same as every delete.

Review

Numbers that match
your statement.

Under Instruments in Settings you give each contract you trade its commission: a per side rate charged on every fill, and a per round turn rate charged once on the completed trade. That is how your broker quotes them. The Review tab then reports your P&L after commissions instead of before. Paste in your broker's daily numbers and it will tell you which days do not match, and by how much.

Playbook

Know your setups
before the open.

Write each setup out once: the steps for a long, the steps for a short, the thing that looks close but is not the setup, and marked up charts of both. Then put read your setups on your morning list. Going over them every day is how you learn them well enough to recognise one in front of you without thinking about it.

Naming a setup here puts it on the dropdown of every trade, so the record and the rules stay the same list, and the Review tab can tell you which setups actually made money.

A finished setup locks, so hovering over the words does not offer to change them. You can hand the whole playbook to somebody else as one file, choosing exactly what travels with it.

Features

Your own folder

Pick a folder once. Every day is written there as plain JSON with your screenshots beside it.

No account

Nothing to sign up for, no password, no server holding anything.

Custom checklists

Write your own, daily, weekly and monthly. They start empty and are yours to change.

Morning prep

Day type, bias, levels and a plan, written before the open rather than after.

Setup review

Put reading your playbook on the morning list, so the setups are fresh before the bell.

Trades as they close

Instrument, direction, size, entry, exit, stop. Paste the chart straight in.

R on every trade

Entry to stop is the risk, so the card shows what the trade made in units of it. Green above water, red below.

Points and dollars

Type either and it derives the other from the contract's point value.

CME point values

Type NQ and the journal already knows what a point is worth. Fees stay yours to enter.

Broker import

Read a CSV of fills, pair the round turns and match them against what you wrote by hand.

Scale-ins and scale-outs

Check the rows that were one position and merge them into the trade you actually took.

Undo

Delete the wrong row and press undo. The screenshots come back with it.

Fees, both shapes

Per side and per round turn, taken off every figure in the Review tab when you ask for it.

Reconciliation

Paste your broker's daily figures and see which days disagree, and by how much.

A calendar of the month

Green days, red days, each week totalled, any day one click away.

A running total

One line per account, so a live account and a copier never get added together.

Playbook

One page per setup, with marked up charts, so you can read them back until you know them. Locks when you are done.

Risk sizer

How many contracts the account allows at that stop, against limits you set.

A live schedule

The strip at the top of every tab knows which block of the session you are in.

Export

One day as a PDF, the whole journal as markdown, everything as a zip.

Share your method

Hand somebody your playbook and checklists as one file. Choose what travels.

Routines to start from

Three written checklists at three depths. Load one and cut it down.

Two worked setups

An opening range breakout and a break and retest, written up with charts, to show what a page looks like.

Dark or light

Two accents, two modes, and it follows your system unless you say otherwise.

Worth knowing

What it does not do.

It will not read your trades for you

No assistant that looks at your record and tells you what your problem is. You do the reviewing.

It does not sync

Syncing means an account and a server holding your trades. You can put your folder in a cloud drive and two computers stay in step for free.

Not built for mobile use

No phone browser can write to a folder, so a phone keeps its own copy and hands the day across as a file when you get back to your desk. It is there for the day you would otherwise skip the journal entirely. Real trading is done on a desktop anyways. Stop being a degenerate.
